2018 Mackay City Auto Group NQ Games

The 2018 NQ Games will be held in the Mackay region 5-7 May 2018. To date there are over 30 sports and an estimated 3,850 competitors ready to participate in Mackay and the surrounding Isaac and Whitsunday regions. The NQ Games will attract a number of athletes from all over Queensland and interstate injecting community and economic benefits into the region. Thank you to our Major Partners for the 2018 North Queensland Games, Mackay City Auto Group and Mackay Regional Council who have contributed significantly bringing the games to the Mackay region. Our project partners include Tourism Events Queensland, CQ University and Followmont Transport who have provided the necessary resources to ensure the games is enjoyed by everyone in our NQ communities.

Age Policy
Unless otherwise stated in the specific nomination information, age participation in the 2018 Mackay City Auto Group NQ Games will be as the first day of the games. Proof of age may be required.
All competitors will be required to register in the 2018 Mackay City Auto Group NQ Games via our website. One competitor pack per registration will be issued (not per sport). Competitor packs will be available for collection upon check-in at BB Print Stadium. Closing dates for individual sports vary.
Please check individual sport pages for close dates.  NOTE: Late nominations will only be accepted at the discretion of the Individual Sports Convenor.


Renae Kunst is an extremely proud North Queenslander born in Mackay and now living back in her hometown. Renae has fond memories of competing in the NQ Games as a Junior Netballer. Renae is the Australian Jillaroos Rugby league world cup winning Captain in 2017 and has been a member of both the Australian Jillaroos and QLD Maroons since 2007 with 3 world cups 2008, 2013 & 2017. The 2018 Mackay City Auto Group NQ Games is privileged having Renae as our Official Ambassador for the Games.

About the NQ Games 

The North Queensland Games are the largest, regularly run, multi-sport event in regional Australia. The inaugural North Queensland Games were held in Townsville at Easter in 1984 and are now staged every two years on a rotational basis between regions centered around the cities of Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns.
